Pensions Reform 2012
The year 2012 will bring some fundamental changes in workplace pensions. The new world of automatic-enrolment and all the administrative obligations it may bring you is just around the corner. With our simple administration process we are here to help and take away the hassle for you. The reforms bring a number of requirements for employers. Auto-enrolment will apply to you regardless of the number of employees and means you will have to enrol eligible workers into a qualifying workplace pension arrangement. An eligible worker is an employee aged between 22 and state pension age and earning above the income tax personal allowance (£7,475 in 2011/12). The changes are being ‘staged in’ starting with the largest employers first.
There will be an optional 3-month ‘waiting period’ before an employee needs to be automatically enrolled in the qualifying scheme.
